Carla 101: Introduction to…who else? :-)

Carla hails from Iligan City in Mindanao, an island in southern Philippines. She traveled to Manila in northern Philippines to pursue a degree in Biology. Most people would think that she took up Biology as a pre-medical course but medicine was furthermost from her mind.

Carla loves her trees. And unless trees become involved in the study of medicine then it would be expected that she wouldn’t be pursuing a career in medicine anytime in the future *wink wink*

She wants to pursue a career in ecology and conservation. These fields perfectly combine her love for nature and the outdoors with her passion for traveling. Her current pursuit involves work on a book on the Philippine species of Rafflesia (nope, she’s not the author, in case you’re wondering). She loves going into the forest and taking pictures of whatever she finds interesting there. And when you’re in the Philippine forests, there are A LOT of those, for sure!

Now she’s on her first adventure to China, to see new places, meet new people, and learn more about what she loves the most — her trees
